Description :

The Optima is a high efficiency wood stove into the Medium size category. With its pure lines, modern European look and integrated convenient space to store wood, this new model will add personality to your home. Moreover, this stove comes with an ultra-quiet 100 CFM blower with variable speed control and an air mate to get optimum heat transfer and air flow.

This freestanding modern pedestal model is EPA certified. Its firebox allows it to fit logs up to 22 inches long.

- Researched small/med. size efficient wood stove - Checked locally for best stove and price. I was encouraged to buy a larger, cast iron wood stove (higher price) and was skeptical about the more efficient cast iron over steel wood stove. - Found excellent reviews on the steel wood stove made by a North American company, Drolet out of Canada. - Found a great price from Northern Tools...

- Researched small/med. size efficient wood stove - Checked locally for best stove and price. I was encouraged to buy a larger, cast iron wood stove (higher price) and was skeptical about the more efficient cast iron over steel wood stove. - Found excellent reviews on the steel wood stove made by a North American company, Drolet out of Canada. - Found a great price from Northern Tools including again great reviews for Drolet. - Checked out the service and parts dept for Drolet including warranty. - Emailed Drolet with some technical questions - quick and knowledgeable response back. - Ordered the Drolet Optima (a small to medium sized steel wood stove. - Burned wood and energy logs for 1 week. It is exactly as the reviewers say. I will give it 5 stars. The stove is too hot to touch after 10 hours overnight with a medium size load of pine or 2 energy logs. (so much for the pros of a cast iron stove. A larger stove wood not have been more efficient, in fact quite the opposite.
