I have purchased the Drolet Blackcomb ll. Winter is almost over here in south central Kentucky so I doubt I’ll have a chance to use this stove this season. My house is about 1400 square foot. I read many reviews on many different brands and I decided to go with Drolet because it seemed like a good mid grade stove. Most of what is readily available in hardware/farm stores in my area seem to be bottom of the line cheaper made stoves (based on observation and reviews). One of the main selling points with Drolet was the customer service. I had a million questions and they were very patient and helpful. They always responded to my emails and even sent pictures of diagrams to explain the answers to my questions. Also a selling point was that the chimney sweep company I used to install my liner had previously had an encounter with another customer that purchased the Drolet escape 1800 and he said it was the best investment he had ever made. So I ordered a Drolet stove and I received it 6 days after ordering. It looks just like it did in the pictures, very good looking stove! All the firebox measurements that were on line are right on. I am still in the process of installing but I look forward to using it next season. Based on what I know at the moment ( I have not used the stove yet) I would recommend Drolet to anyone that doesn’t have the money to get an expensive wood stove but doesn’t want the cheaper made ones either.
