Heavy duty. Produces a lot of heat. The metal thermo-switch plate on the back of the blower does not press up against the wall of the firebox very well. I had to shim the blower housing in order to put pressure on it so that it would press up against the wall of the firebox properly. Blower produces moderate noise at high setting. The change in pressure when you open the door causes a lot of ash to come flying out, so you need to crack the door open for a few seconds, wait, and then open it up slowly the rest of the way before you get into the firebox. The black faceplate is easily 10 inches too wide. It is a shame that you have to spend an additional couple hundred dollars to get the smaller one. The faceplate that comes in the drolet combo kit is the extra large faceplate, which is too big for my 32 inch fireplace. Looks ok but also definitely looks too big at the same time. Lastly, the ENTIRE insert gets too hot to the touch. All sides, top and bottom, and every other part of it aside from the blower get very hot during operation. I was very surprised that everything got to hot. So if you have little kids you definitely need some extra safety measures put in place before you take your eyes off of the insert while it is operating.
