So far, this stove seems to burn HALF as much wood as our older woodstove. Also, when loaded at night, it keeps our home warm until morning, something our old stove couldn’t do. The air-wash on the glass also keeps the glass at least 10 times cleaner! This is a great feature! There has been a learning curve getting a good, hot fire started with this. Thankfully, we got this stove toward the end of our cold season. Our remaining wood had only seasoned about 6 months. It was fine for the old stove, but we had to use very dry wood and crack the door to get this stove started, then our wood worked alright. Next year, our wood should work much better, from what I read.
