Please note: This stove was originally purchased on Aug 13 2020 but was not installed and hooked up for use until Sept 13 2021. We purchased it from Home Hardware Kaslo BC with thermodisk and blower attachments. In telling you this what I am asking is that you begin the warranty period from the time the stove was installed, not when it was purchased. That seems only fair since we've only been using it (since this last September 13th) for 2 months. We had to remove an old masonry chimney and install a new manufactured Selkirk brand chimney first (25 feet x 6" all enclosed inside the house) which wasn't done until late August 2021. I can snail mail you the original purchase receipt from Home Hardware but I have no way of emailing it to you. They know us at the store and will confirm everything if you phone them. i can also supply the stove WETT Certification inspection papers dated Sept 13 2021 if you need them - please let me know on all this and what the effective dates of our warranty is. I can't say I am unsatisfied per se, just wondering why the stove seems to use a lot of wood and burns only about 5 - 6 hours at best on a full load of wood. It isn't cold here yet, only -3 or -4 C. Wood is hemlock dried to about 15% moisture content by meter check. We are not over firing it as the draft is shut down to try lengthen the burn cycle and it isn't burning overly hot either. I understand there may be a Drolet warranty fix for the secondary air tubes and possibly the main damper or draft control. Is it restriction washers or something? Please advise all you can about this. I've also read that other purchasers have had a problem with too much draft pulling the secondary air through too fast and pulling too much heat out of the stove into the chimney. There doesn't seem to be a lot of secondary burning going on above the flames which are mostly yellow. The gases don't seem to be igniting as they should. Is that because of too much draft? Summary: 1) Please confirm our warranty dates and if our issue is a matter for warranty. 2) Please advise if there is a manufacturer "fix" or "modification" that can be done by us to improve burn time. 3) My only other comment is that I feel the fire box should be narrower and deeper bottom to top instead of wide and quite shallow bottom to top. That would make the stove much more convenient to use, I feel. 4) If there are issues with the draft and primary - secondary air controls you should have them figured out before you sell your stoves. Sorry to burden you with all this. Please advise. Thanks in advance for your kind consideration and patience.
