Description

Among the most efficient systems on the market based on distributed energy, the Heat Commander is a central heating system that is both cutting edge and accessible thanks to its innovative design and ease of use. EPA certified, its 310,000 BTU capacity makes this furnace versatile and ideal for heating spaces up to 2,500 ft². The Heat Commander’s overall thermal power is notably much higher than most comparable systems.

Result of our victory in an international innovation competition, the Heat Commander is the very first wood furnace on the market to offer Dual Fire© technology with a two-stage electronic combustion control. Find peace of mind with a self-regulated combustion that allows easy ignition. Its automated air supply and flame adjustment systems synchronize with your thermostat to offer additional safety, optimize comfort and reduce emissions with minimal maintenance.

Included: blower, thermostat, hot air plenum, combustion-state indicator light, automated combustion control, ash lip, ash lip, ash drawer, poker and scraper

▪ Intuitive start mode for fast and clean ignition
▪ Optimized combustion for low creosote formation
▪ Uninterrupted heat with on-demand boost based on thermostatic demand
▪ Among the lowest burn rates on the market (firewood savings)
▪ Up to 10 hours burn time
▪ 3.6 ft³ firebox
▪ 21" logs (loading over depth and width)
▪ Glass airwash system for a cleaner view of the flames
▪ EPA certified
▪ Proudly made in Canada

This is my third wood furnance in my home since 1989. I felt really good buying the HEAT COMMANDER furnace because of the stated advances in a "modern furnace" that is EPA Certified. I bought this in August 2023, but due to close to fall heating season in Michigan I decided to wait till next year to install and use my old furnace for the winter of 2023. I also had all my wood cut for my old furnace which had a much larger firebox and I was not going to re-cut my wood to fit the smaller HEAT COMMANDER firebox. I finally installed my new HEAT COMMANDER and had first burn on 05 October 2024. By the way, I found out your warranty starts the day you BUY IT not when you install it. My first problem was a broken ash door and DROLET readily sent me a new one. My second problem in the middle of the winter was my GREEN LIGHT stopped working and after an $85.00 dollar bill received my new light. Your electrical warranty is only 1 year and I did not install it until after 1 year. I installed it myself and now everything works OK. I am amazed the furnace DOES NOT come with any FEET to keep it off the floor and puts the ash door right on the floor. I am 74 years old and that makes opening the ash door very hard for senior people. I solved that by mounting the furnace on a steel platform dolly. The furnace weights around 700 pounds so the dolly makes moving the furnace very easy. I am very disappointed that I cannot get but 3-5 hour burns even with oak firewood packed in the small firebox. I also fought with smoke backup when low fire is present. After living here for 35 years with two other wood furnaces I have never experienced that. I solved the problem by purchasing a GEMI draft inducer. I have talked and consulted with many "wood furnace" experts and DROLET themselves, but have not received any solutions. I may have to move my old furnace back and put the DROLET in my barn. I am not satisfied with the help or the furnace and cannot endorse it with a good conscience.
